Buttonwood Books and Toys is thrilled to host Emily Everett, ALL THAT LIFE CAN AFFORD; Amity Gaige, HEARTWOOD; andJohn Kenney, I SEE YOU'VE CALLED IN DEAD.About the Authors:Emily Everett is an editor and writer from western Massachusetts and is also a Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellow in Fiction. Her short fiction appears in The Kenyon Review, Electric Literature, Tin House, and Mississippi Review. Everett grew up on a small family dairy farm, studied English and music at Smith College, and studied abroad for a year at University College London. After graduating, she returned to London to do an M.A. in literature at Queen Mary University of London. She lived and worked in the UK from 2009 to 2013, and has been managing editor of The Common, a literary magazine based at Amherst College, since 2016. All That Life Can Afford is her debut novel.Amity Gaige is the author of four previous novels, O My Darling, The Folded World, Schroder, and Sea Wife. Sea Wife was a 2020 New York Times Notable Book and a finalist for the Mark Twain American Voice Award. Schroder was also a New York Times Notable Book and a best book of 2013 according to The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, among others, and was shortlisted for UK’s Folio Prize in 2014. Her work has been translated into eighteen languages. In 2018, Amity was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in Fiction. She lives in West Hartford, Connecticut, with her family and teaches creative writing at Yale.John Kenney is the author of two novels and four books of poetry. His first novel, Truth In Advertising, won the Thurber Prize for American humor. He is also the author of Talk to Me, which received a starred Kirkus review, and the New York Times bestseller Love Poems for Married People. He is a long-time contributor to The New Yorker.
