Join us for the fourth offering of the Green Screen Series & Eco Film Forum, a thought-provoking and audience-engaging event series hosted by Kootenai Environmental Alliance and the CDA Library.
Each month, we're sharing an environmentally focused film to provide insight and spark a conversation about how to approach these topics locally.
Films and discussions will take place in the Coeur d'Alene Library Community Room, from 2 - 4pm.
Our next film, on March 7th, is Covenant of the Salmon People.
This 60-minute documentary portrays the Nez Perce Tribe as they continue to carry out their ancient promise to protect Chinook salmon, a cornerstone species and first food that their people have subsisted on for tens of thousands of years.
As a dammed river system and climate impacts threaten the extinction of Chinook salmon, a cornerstone of their culture and ancestral diet, they continue to do their part to uphold this relationship–but will it be enough to save wild salmon from extinction?
Following the film, a discussion about current efforst from the Nez Perce Tribe and how they can be supported regionally.
