Writing Sprints with Cortney CaseySo, you've wanted to start writing, but you're not sure how. Or maybe you're an established writer craving community. No matter your experience level, join a casual group of written word aficionados during our Writing Sprints event, led by Books & Books' own Cortney Casey. Cort signed with a literary agent earlier this year and is preparing to go out on submission to publishers with her debut novel, so she knows a thing or two about what it takes to face the page and write your heart out. During this event, she'll be leading writing sprints (timed periods of writing), offering optional writing prompts, and acting as your personal cheerleader as you push your project to the finish line. We'll be convening at the beginning and end of the session to chat, answer publishing questions and share a sentence or paragraph we're particularly proud of. In between, we'll be silently writing. Bring your laptop, notebook, and/or whatever other tools you need to write. This event is all about good vibes and encouragement! Tickets are $10 and include a hot tea, sparking water, a glass of wine, or canned beer.ABOUT THE AUTHORA native of Michigan, Cortney “Cort” Casey is an award-winning journalist, author, former small business owner and Books & Books’ bookseller/merchandising manager living in Miami. She's represented by Kim Witherspoon of InkWell Management and is preparing to go out on submission to publishers soon with her upmarket family drama/mystery, STILL LIFE WITH DANDELIONS. A die-hard "pantser" (a writer who discovers the story as they go along, in contrast to "plotters," who plan the story out in advance), Cort believes there's no one-size-fits-all approach to writing and that the most important writing technique is the one that keeps you creating! - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/coconut-grove/miami-writers-workshop-writing-sprints-with-cortney-casey/100001664339447089 - **Event Categories**: art, literary-art, workshops, theatre, performances, entertainment - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 12.29, max: 12.29, currency: USD ## Event venue details - **city**: Coconut Grove - **state**: FL - **country**: United States - **location**: Books & Books in Coconut Grove - **lat**: 25.7275856 - **long**: -80.24245619999999 - **full address**: Books & Books in Coconut Grove, 3409 Main Hwy, Coconut Grove, United States ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Miami Writers Workshop: Writing Sprints with Cortney Casey - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/127737f20b1a5e3b316c71c8bdd83d9d93cc415dc25fb277c86bbf01d49e1cc7-rimg-w1200-h601-dcfdf4ea-gmir.jpg?v=1757232613 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Miami Writers Workshop: Writing Sprints with Cortney Casey being held? - **A:** Miami Writers Workshop: Writing Sprints with Cortney Casey takes place on Thu, 06 Nov, 2025 at 06:30 pm to Thu, 06 Nov, 2025 at 08:30 pm at Books & Books in Coconut Grove, 3409 Main Hwy, Coconut Grove, United States. - **Q**: Who is organizing Miami Writers Workshop: Writing Sprints with Cortney Casey? - **A:** Miami Writers Workshop: Writing Sprints with Cortney Casey is organized by Books & Books. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
