# Event Details - **Event Name**: 2025-2026 Brevard County 4-H Market Poultry Project - **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 22 Aug, 2025 at 12:00 pm – Fri, 22 Aug, 2025 at 11:59 pm - **Event Description**: The 4-H market poultry project is an 8-month project whereby youth raise chickens which are auctioned off at the end of the project.About this EventThis project is open to youth ages 5 - 18 as of September 1, 2025.When enrolling, please choose the total number of tickets to equal the number of children participating in the project. In order to protect our youth's privacy, we are only asking for parental information on the enrollment form. The cost of this project includes 6 chicks per child.We will be offering classes to help prepare our youth for showmanship, skill-a-thon, record books, and the auction. While not mandatory, they are highly encouraged, and youth attending classes will receive points toward Champion Exhibitor. Classes are open to Market Poultry and Purebred Poultry participants.When enrolling, please choose the total number of tickets to equal the number of children participating in the project. (This class does NOT count toward Champion Exhibitor)Sept 30 2025 - This class will cover project overview, fair due dates, record books, and the poultry poster and photo contests.Nov 4, 2025 - This class will cover showmanship and skill-a-thonJan 20, 2026 - This class will cover writing buyers letter and give youth the opportunity to being writing them.March 10, 2026 - This class will help prepare youth for the fair and auction and will give them the opportunity to practice showing their birds at the auction.Please understand that this is a Market project that requires completing a record book and is meant to end in the auctioning off of three chickens.
