Mighty Squirrel Productions is beyond thrilled to present Lizzy Plotkin & The Ditchwalkers in concert! This will be a matinee show from 2-4 pm on Sunday, November 30th at the BEST listening room around, the historic red brick Coaldale Schoolhouse. It's on Thanksgiving weekend so round up friends and family for a wonderful community experience at the historic Coaldale Schoolhouse.
Lizzy is an incredible fiddler/singer/songwriter who has performed with a number of bluegrass, jazz, blues and country acts such as Trout Steak Revival, Pure Prairie League, Drew Emmitt Band, John Fullbright (in Salida!), Gypsy Jazz Social Club and The Polish Ambassador, to name just a few. She has graced stages in lofty places such as Red Rocks, Brooklyn’s Jalopy Theatre and School of Music, Nashville’s Music City Roots and the John Hartford Memorial Festival, where she took 2nd place in the John Hartford Songwriting Competition for her chiropractic love song “Crooked Child”.
Many, many years she performed at the Coaldale Schoolhouse with the acclaimed trio she co-founded, Free The Honey. On November 30 she'll bring her recent collaboration, The Ditchwalkers, featuring Matt (guitar) and Madeline Shugert (banjo). Rooted in the rhythms of mountain life, The Ditchwalkers entwine heartfelt harmonies with the warmth of acoustic instruments. Their entertaining shows feature original folk songs and compositions alongside well-loved contemporary and traditional songs from the deep well of Appalachian old-time and bluegrass music. The musical interplay between the three are exquisite, the harmonies nuanced and rich.
Seating will be capped at 90 – we do expect a full house so encourage you to grab tickets now, go here for advanced tickets:
