Trail Ratings

Green: Scenic trails with minor obstacles. Stock vehicles are fine. Continual use of 4-wheel drive may not be necessary.

Blue: Scenic trails with multiple moderate obstacles, such as stream crossings, off-camber hill climbs and rocks. Most obstacles have a by-pass. One traction device (locker or posi) and 31”-33” tires is suggested. Body and/or mechanical damage is possible.

Black: Frequent moderate obstacles, such as difficult stream crossings, (optional) deep mud, and HUGE rocks with many technical challenges. 35” tires and two traction devices suggested (no dual posi, at least one full locker). Experienced drivers only. Body and mechanical damage is possible and likely.

Red: These are the really nasty ones. If you have to ask about required equipment, this probably isn’t the trail for you - 35” tires, dual lockers, winch, full roll cage, alternate transportation home, and full complement of spare parts required. Highly experienced drivers only. ***Please have a tow rig and trailer available as body and mechanical damage is inevitable.***
Mandatory Vehicle Requirements

The following items will be verified:
Seatbelts for all passengers in vehicle
Front and rear tow hooks with grade 8 bolts
Working lights
Factory hard top or roll bar
Battery tied down (NOT with bungee cord)
Spare tire (full size mandatory, a long with proper size jack)
GMRS radio (CB radio is acceptable - trail guides have both)

Suggested Equipment
Snatch strap
Clevis hook
First Aid kit
Work gloves
Helmet for the extreme trails
Boots - Rattlesnakes and other creepy varmints are frequently seen on the trails.
