⚡️ Open to guests and members alike ⚡️
BECOME THE SPEAKER AND LEADER YOU WERE DESTINED TO BE
Our Central Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which you can hone your speaking and leadership skills in a friendly atmosphere. Our group has 25 members who meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Guests are warmly welcomed and can attend up to three meetings for free in order that they can decide if the club is right for them.
Here you will learn communication skills by having the opportunity to complete a wide range of tailored manuals (depending on your own personal speaking goals) which include speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.
You will learn skills related to use of gestures, eye contact, speech organisation and overall delivery.
You will also learn leadership skills by taking on various meeting roles and serving as officers at the club and district levels. In our learn-by-doing approach, we don’t lecture our members about leadership skills; we offer them responsibilities and invite them to lead.
Offering positive and constructive feedback in a safe and supported environment is a key to our success, and club members evaluate and give feedback on each other's presentations.
Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings, serve as officers in various leadership roles and learn about timing and grammar.
We are a friendly and welcoming club, so If you are unsure about any aspect of our meeting, please do reach out, otherwise, we look forward to seeing you there!
Warm Regards from all at Central Toastmasters. ?
