Spring Farm CARES
3364 New York 12, Clinton, United States
Winter is a great time to learn to identify trees! Without the distraction of leaves, we’re invited to pay closer attention to the patterns and subtle cues of bark and buds in the colder months. The Nature Sanctuary's mature forest and reforestation fields provide a living laboratory to learn and practice our winter botany skills.
Join Nature Sanctuary staff member Nat Levin for a winter tree identification workshop on Sunday, March 1st from 2 to 4 p.m. We’ll look at bark, buds, branches, seeds pods, and habitat - basically everything but leaves! - to aid our identifications.
To reserve your spot, please register on Eventbrite. The cost is $20. Space is limited.
Please note that this class will take place entirely outside, though we’ll reschedule the event of very inclement weather. We'll walk up to 1.5 miles, sometimes off trail and in rough terrain, so please dress appropriately.
We'll meet in the main Spring Farm CARES lot, then cross the street to the Nature Sanctuary.
