This easy project will be taught by April Hubbard. Please bring the following supplies: Working sewing machine with zig zag capability, sewing needle size 100/16 or any other heavy-duty needle, open toe foot (I use a walking foot, but any wide-open toe foot will work). Bring extra needles as we are sewing through a lot of layers and breakage sometimes occurs.Basic sewing supplies. The instructor will supply clothespins for everyone.Thread to compliment or contrast your fabric (Teacher recommends King Tut variegated thread available in many colors and combinations and is available at S & S Vac in Hyde Park or online at Superior threads). The top thread will show on the inside of bowl, and the bobbin thread will show on the outside of the bowl.50-foot package of 3/16 inch cotton clothesline rope, available online or at most hardware stores (If you would like the instructor to provide the rope please indicate as such when you sign up for the class and bring $5 in cash.)Approximately 1 yard of cotton fabric. Batiks work well for this project but are not required. You can use all one fabric or multiple fabrics for a fun scrappy look.Please have your fabric precut into 1 inch x width of fabric strips.
