Tenancy Applications and Business Planning

Are you aged between 18 - 40? Do you have aspirations of running your own business or growing your farming business at home?

Our programme will help develop your skills and knowledge to help you create your own farming related business or enhance your skills if you already actively work within a farming business. There is also the opportunity to apply for a small grant of up to £750.

Our second workshop will focus on business planning, with a practical look at tenancy applications and business costings. We’ll be joined by two speakers who both have real experience in these areas.

Alice Fawcett will share her experience of putting together a winning tenancy application for the Cumbria Young Farmers competition - what to include and what makes an application stand out.

Following that, Jonathon Hird from H&H Land and Estates will talk about how to get your own farming-related business off the ground, and what to think about when writing a new business plan or growing an existing enterprise.
