The total rail experience will last approximately 1 hr and 30 minutes. Departing from Clifton Railway station and arriving back into Clifton Railway Station.

Please plan to arrive at Clifton Station at least 30 minutes before departure.

Infants under 2 years old who are not occupying a seat travel free; however, if you would like to reserve a seat for your infant under 2 years old, please book as a child fare.

Minors of 15 and under may be booked under a child’s seat and must be accompanied by an adult.

Light refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase from onboard our train.

Please note: due to the heritage nature of our coaches some seats may not have windows (as noted on seat maps and tickets), guests are highly encouraged to select their own seats when booking.

DownsSteam is a community organisation, run by volunteers, dedicated to the establishment of a tourist heritage railway for the Darling Downs. DownsSteam was formed to preserve and restore the last remaining steam locomotive built at the historic Toowoomba Foundry Company, C16-106 Southern Cross Works No 28 circa 1914. Along with our two steam locomotives C16-106, and BB18¼ 1037, we have also restored the former Commissioner’s Inspection Railmotor. Not only are you able to wander through our historic station and go on a precinct tour (including our exceptional Dreamtime Carriage), we also run rail trips to various towns on the Downs.
