MVMBA's most popular race of the season is back! Get your legs ready to take on 6 hours at John Bryan sponsored by Black Pug Bike Repair. We are excited to offer multiple categories, so there is the opportunity for everyone to ride! Come on out to race against the field, or just test yourself. Race starts promptly at 10 a.m. Please arrive early to check-in & pick up your packet/number between 8:30 and attend the mandatory pre-race meeting at 9:30. This race is a fundraiser for the John Bryan mountain biking trails, we thank you for your support! Entries may be limited to the first 200 registered. Rain date is Sunday, 20 July.
Returning this year:
The 6 minutes of John Bryan - kids only race, starts immediately after the 6hr race but prologue only (including the Le Mans style/run to your bike start). Winning time last year was 6 minutes.
An oldie but goodie: the family category (at least one kid, every family member must complete at least one full lap).
New this year:
Masters solo categories (45+)
On-site activity waiver required
Self-organized bike/parts swap meet following the event
Same as always:
$30 per rider fee, waived for those under 18 (including the 6 minutes of John Bryan)
Le Mans style start (run a few hundred yards to your bike) with ~ 1 mile prologue
Team exchanges can only occur in the transition area after the lap line (tag your partner)
Avoid the lap line/timing tent area with your bike to avoid having your RFID tag trigger
Placing determined by total number of laps completed with 6 hours and time of last completed lap
If you leave the course for any reason, re-enter at the location you left or return to the transition area without crossing the lap line if you want to send a team member out to start a lap over.
We are doing this for fun: be safe and courteous (especially passing)
The race director reserves the right to penalize unsafe behavior.
Race Start: 10:00 a.m.
Race End: 4:00 p.m. No laps finished after 4:00 p.m. will count.
Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting: 9:30 a.m.
Number plate pick-up/check-in: We will be out there by 8:30 a.m. at the gazebo. You must fill out an activity waiver with emergency contact information and legible signature (parent or guardian signature required for those under 18).
Prizes: There will be no cash prizes in order to keep the race entry fees cheap! You are racing for pride and glory only. All money that is not used to pay for race insurance, tape, timing, etc. will be donated to the John Bryan Trail Crew so John Bryan can continue to be a great mountain biking destination. We will attempt to recognize the top three in each category.
Solo registration: leave Team name blank - this is only for duo/Jr teams. You can put whatever you want in Club/Team affiliation/Sponsor (or leave it blank).
Duo/Jr Team registration:
a) Register as individuals with individual names (can do so from the same webscorer account)
b) Team name is name of your Duo/Jr Team (must match your partner(s)! - Team name must be blank for solo entrants!)
c) Club/Team affiliation/Sponsor entry has nothing to do with your Duo/Jr Team (can be different for every rider or blank).
Registering multiple riders from the same webscorer account? If you wish to register another participant or edit a registration from your account:
1) Stay Signed into webscorer
2) Select the "Event Registration Page" button 2nd from the top on the right on the webscorer event page
3) Select Start new registration or edit registration as appropriate, Many of the blanks will autofill when you start typing (email, emergency contact, ...).
