Take a stroll down memory lane and remember why this stretch of Euclid earned its reputation as one of the largest shopping districts in the country, often compared to New York’s iconic Fifth Avenue.During the early to mid-20th century, iconic department stores such as Higbee’s, May Company, Taylor’s, Sterling-Lindner-Davis, and Halle’s lined Euclid Avenue and the south side of Public Square. These stores became famous for their elaborate window displays and festive holiday traditions. Today, many of these historic buildings have been adaptively redeveloped into housing and retail spaces, while retaining their original architectural grandeur.At check-in, you’ll receive a thank you Take a Hike insulated tumbler! Hot chocolate will be provided to fill your new tumbler and bring along on the tour.Courtesy of our hospitality partner Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade, every guest will also receive a voucher to 1890 Lounge for: one complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage (up to $15). Voucher can be used after the tour or anytime through December 31, 2025.Arrive15-30 minutes before the start of the tour to allow yourself time to enjoy The Arcade's holiday décor, Santas of the World Exhibit, check-in and get refreshment.This tour is outside, rain or shine, so dress for the weather.You must be pre-registered to attend, there are no refunds for ticketed events. Proceeds from the holiday tours support Take a Hike summer program.
