- **Event Description**: We are thrilled that our dear friend Dan Repsch is visiting us all the way from Montreal to teach us some balboa and blues and help us dance the weekend away. This weekend will include a full day of lessons, a DJ workshop, and social dance opportunities.

Dan is immersed in the music and the movement. As a teacher, his enthusiastic approach brings a focus on innovation, connection, and attention to your partner. As a veteran instructor and DJ, he's worked for events across 4 continents, for everything from international events to local dances. He’s also organized both locally and for international events, including a Head DJ role in BluesSHOUT! and The Balboa/Blues Experiment. In the end, Dan is most excited to work hard at improving the dance and to see people break through their boundaries.

This weekend will be packed with some great dancing, DJing, and lessons. Here's what to expect:

Saturday, August 16: 
10:30 am: Class at Cleveland Heights Recreation Center
Balboa: Clearer Movement and Communication
This class is about breaking your Balboa away from patterns by focusing on how we communicate movements as partners. We'll work on precision by exploring layers like floor interaction, flow through body movement, and awareness of axis so that we can move more effortlessly and interpret the music more rhythmically.
12:45 pm: Lunch
2:15 pm: Class at Cleveland Heights Recreation Center
Blues: Shared and Independent Movement in Embrace
Even in embrace position we can have very different but compatible movement. We'll start by finding some of the ways our connection points can dynamically move and change while dancing together. From there, we'll explore what happens when choose to mirror movement or make independent choices while keeping the dance comfortable and cohesive.
8-11pm: Social Dance with Burning River Blues at Blues & Balboa in the Heights

Sunday, August 17:
11:00 am: Brunch and a DJ Workshop with Dancing
3:00 pm: Forest City Django Club plays at Forest City Brewery. **This is a Forest City Brewery event, not organized by CBC.**
