- **Event Description**: Join us for a free tour of Clevedon (St Andrews) CemeteryAbout this EventJoin the commonwealth War Graves Commision for a free tour of Clevedon (St Andrews) Cemetery, led by one of our experienced volunteer tour guides.Our tours are free to the public, but if you would like to support us then please consider donating to our charity The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF).https://foundation.cwgc.org/donate/MEETING POINT at the Lychgate at St Andrews Church BS21 7UEThis tour starts at St Andrew’s Church in Clevedon, a beautiful 12th Century Church overlooking the Bristol Channel which has 13 War Graves from both World Wars. It finishes a short walk away from the Church, at Clevedon Cemetery, where there are a further 8 War Graves all from WW2.The tour covers some of the history of the CWGC as well as stories of some of the individuals behind the headstones, including the only casualty killed in Clevedon by enemy action.The tour lasts approx. 70 mins and covers about 800 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground with hills and slopes.Parking is available on site and nearby, and there are no facilities on site so please bring water if required.Please come dressed for the weather and wear suitable footwear.Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome in the cemetery.Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
