The Pastfinders of South Lake County Genealogical Society is excited to announce a presentation by Thomas MacEntee on November 13th at 5 PM Eastern Time. This program will be accessible both via Zoom and in person at the Cooper Memorial Library, Clermont, in room 108. Attendees who come to the library are encouraged to arrive early to socialize and enjoy refreshments.

Most family historians are looking for a way to share their family stories with others. We all dream of writing that book or finding the time to create something meaningful for the next generation to learn from. Face it: most genealogists never get around to publishing that family history book based on their genealogy research. How about a different approach: producing short 3-5 page “sketches” about an ancestor? You’ll learn how to include a cover, photos, facts, family stories, source citations and more! And guess what, once you get a few of these ancestor sketches done, you can compile them together for one big book!

This program will include Basic Elements of an Ancestor Biography Sketch, Ancestor Sketch Formats, Importing Genealogy Research Information, Source Citation, Copyrighted Material, and Credits, Documenting Family Stories, Tips, Tricks, and Tools and a Resource List Don't forget to register for Zoom at https://tinyurl.com/AncestorSketch5PMNov13 , and be sure to check out PastfindersSLC.org for additional information.

Speaker Thomas MacEntee: author, educator, advocate, entrepreneur, and that “genealogy guy” who helps you accomplish your family history goals. Thomas MacEntee is a guy with a love of punk rock music but also art history who somehow “fell” into the technology industry years ago. He left a lucrative tech career to pursue his love of family history and genealogy. Technology and historical research seem like opposites, but “tech people” like Thomas are needed to guide you through the maze of options so you can find your ancestors and bring their stories to life.
