In Episode 7 of 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗬 (𝗕𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘅 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱) Season 5 features 𝗚𝘂𝗿𝘂 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘆 a renowned sitar player from Kolkata. A Gold Medalist with an MA in Music from Delhi University, Guru Susanta was formerly with SIFAS from 1999 to 2003 and rejoined the institution in 2011. He currently serves as a master tutor in Sitar and Hindustani Vocal at SIFAS and also teaches sitar at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is joined by 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗼-𝗧𝘇𝘂, a freelance choreographer, dancer, and performer from Taiwan. Her work explores themes of desire, fear, and life’s multiple trajectories, while embracing international collaboration across theatre, performance, and cultural disciplines.

Exploring the intersectionalities and possibilities of the sonic and physical realms, the performance project aims to promulgate the concepts of improvisation, exploration, experimentation and collision.

Artists are challenged to meet on the afternoon of performance day at 5pm to discuss their strategies (if any) for the evening's improvisation performance at 8pm. The spontaneity of each unique sharing thus underscores its own ephemerality, for makers and viewers.
