In this fellowship sharing, Dr Yee Han will present artefacts and photographs from his visit to North Korea. Through questions such as what it means to see a place through restricted access, what images reveal or conceal, and which common assumptions are true or misleading, participants will be invited to critically reflect on everyday aspects of life often taken for granted — including freedom of movement, access to information and communication. Students will engage in small-group discussions to explore how the absence of these privileges might shape daily life in North Korea, and how their own lives might differ under such conditions. Using real images from Dr Yee Han’s trip, this session examines privilege as structural and contextual, rather than purely personal, offering a powerful and thought-provoking lens on inequality and access.
