January Book Choice: Go As A River by Shelley Read

Our choice to start the new year is a poignant coming-of-age novel set in 1940s Colorado. Go As a River follows Victoria Nash, a young woman whose secret romance with a Native drifter, Wilson Moon, leads to heartbreak and exile. After a tragic loss and an act of sacrifice, she retreats into the wilderness, giving up her newborn to protect him. As her hometown is erased by a dam project, Victoria must rebuild her life, shaped by grief, resilience, and the enduring flow of nature.
