Abraham Lake View Point

This three-day small group workshop is a fantastic opportunity to photograph one of the most fun winter subjects - the frozen methane bubbles of Abraham Lake. These surreal, otherworldly formations are a bucket-list subject for photographers, and you’ll have plenty of time to explore and create unique compositions on the vast, frozen surface of the lake. The small group size ensures lots of one-on-one time with your instructor with personalized guidance whether you’re looking to master techniques, refine your use of filters, or spend more time on creativity and compostion. Beyond the bubbles, we’ll also take advantage of dramatic ice cracks, mountain backdrops, and winter light conditions that make this location so compelling.
A large part of this workshop will be on focus stacking to create shots of bubbles and mountains that are sharp from front to back. Other concepts and techniques we can work on:
Monika is not only exceptionally professional, but she is also so kind and sincere. She has always taken the time out of her busy day to answer all my questions about photography. She honestly went above and beyond on both workshops I attended; I am hoping to do more soon! Every time shooting with Monika has been a pleasure, she cares about you and your development. Monika teaches you the skills you need to improve as a photographer."
