🎶 Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony crowns an afternoon devoted to the unusual, the unexpected, and the unforgettable.
Join us for a performance where innovation meets immortality — and hear the sound that changed music forever.
Under the direction of Maestro Leon Burke, the Orchestra celebrates three stunning works that showcase the beauty of ingenuity and imagination.
🎺 Launy Grøndahl — Concerto for Trombone
Praised as both highly original and deeply captivating, this Danish gem highlights the expressive range of the trombone. We are honored to feature Jonathan Reycraft of our beloved St. Louis Symphony as soloist.
🎷 Claude Debussy — Rhapsodie for Saxophone and Orchestra
Debussy paints an exotic dreamscape in this rarely heard work — a shimmering blend of color and lyricism. We are thrilled to welcome Jerry Cobetto as soloist for this evocative piece.
🎻 Ludwig van Beethoven — Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67
From the world’s 4 most iconic opening notes to its triumphant finale, Beethoven’s Fifth remains the most famous, revolutionary and transformative symphony ever written — the perfect culmination of a program celebrating the spirit of daring and discovery.
