Let's make some tracks together!
The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day of the year, and the Butler CCB would like to celebrate this change from shortening daylight to lengthening daylight with an afternoon of hiking and a movie. We know the busy holiday season will be upon us, but why not get out of the house, breath in some fresh air, and relax a bit before the holiday .... really begins?
The winter woodland should be alive with wildlife, and we will begin our hike at the Allan and Fayette Meyer Nature Center at 1:00 PM. Bring your family or friends (or both) to join in the walk through the woods. We may stay near the nature center, or we may venture across to the Harms Wildlife Area as well. After the walk, we will warm up in the classroom with hot cocoa and popcorn while watching a family-friendly movie. The best part is that this event is FREE for everyone!
You do not need to register for this event, but if you are planning to join in on the fun, Annette would appreciate an e-mail (

Be sure to dress for the weather and trail conditions. Feel free to bring a comfy blanket or seat with you (camp chair, beanbag chair, blanket...), or you can use one of our chairs as well.
