Info: Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Herchel Bailey comes from a family with a rich musical heritage. His grandfather, Deford Bailey Sr., was the first African American performer at the Grand Ole Opry and a pioneer in country music. Herchel began performing at age nine and later became the lead vocalist for his father's band. In the 1980s, he gained recognition in Nashville clubs and toured Europe with The Jimmy Church Band in 1992. In 2003, he formed Herchel Bailey and The Unit Band, earning acclaim as Nashville's top male vocalist and winning the Male Blues Vocalist of the Year. Herchel's versatile singing spans R&B, Jazz, and tributes to legends like Marvin Gaye and James Brown.
