Meditation is deliberate focus of attention to elicit feelings of calm and can also increase energy and awareness. Regular mediation offers many health benefits, such as reduced stress and anxiety, plus it also increases one’s ability to cope with grief. In these 45 minute sessions, we go through calming and grounding exercises to bring you higher thinking back online. These sessions are designed to help one let go of past hurt and pain; to let go of self-limiting beliefs that may keep us trapped, not allowing us to open up to a new way of being. Meditation helps support habit changes, reduce stress, and improve sleep quality. You will learn many techniques that will be useful throughout your life. You will be taught how to relax and refocus. Classes will be held every Tuesday, from 2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. inside the Cafeteria/Marketplace at Allied Services Corporate Center. Please note - you do not need to attend every class to begin to learn the benefits of meditation. Attend just one or attend all, whatever suits your schedule best. ***The program is free and open to the public however, PRE-REGISTRATION is REQUIRED. With special certifications in Yoga for Kids, "Grief yoga , and Cancer wellness, Certified in MBSR program out of UMASS. Mindy has also studied meditation and kundilina yoga. She has studied with internationally‐known teachers including Rodney Yee, Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Ana Forrest, Gurmuk of Golden Bridge , Sierra Bender and has taken many meditation workshops with Sally Kempton. Also most recently studied with Jon Kabat Zinn in his MBSR program.
