Last year we had the inaugural and pretty much a test run of the combination aviation Fly In and Classic car show at my friend Hannu's airstrip south of Mosport. It was a good success, so we are on for this year.
New date is Sunday, September 7 so a week after Labour Day weekend.
I look for a wide variety of Classic vehicles. We are not looking for all perfect trailer queens.
No entry fee or grounds admission charge but donations and draw ticket purchase to support the local Flying club are encouraged.
If you want to have a car in the display area, which is a manicured lawn, and quite beautiful, you MUST enter in advance. You will then be giving a Numbered invitation ticket, a commemorative Dash plaque, and you will be entered in the peoples choice award competition.
If you just want to show up and enjoy the show with your classic car, motorcycle, scooter, etc. you are more than welcome. There is a 5000 foot long grass runway with parking adjacent to it on grass so it's quite a nice venue.
Food and beverages will be available on site at very reasonable prices. A corn roast will be available at noon. As well as washroom facilities.
Aside from the cars on display, you can get up close and personal with between 40 and 80 aircraft of all types. They arrive and depart at will so obey the Staff and STAY OFF THE RUNWAY!
It's worth the drive up just to hear that fabulous Mustang start up and roar overhead. Who knows maybe you'll be lucky enough to win a flight in it!
