TRADITIONAL SKILLS: All About Backyard Pigs
Back in 2011 our family discovered the MVP of a homestead: backyard pigs. Fred says that pigs beat any animal or crop for calories produced per acre, but more importantly, they provide BACON. We started with just two piglets in our suburban backyard, and now breed multiple Mulefoot sows each year on 140+ acres in Catawba County.
Come join us at True Cut Ranch for a fun and informative event all about raising backyard pigs! Whether you're a seasoned pig owner or just curious about these adorable animals, this event is for you. Learn from experts in the field and gain valuable insights into pig care, feeding, and housing. Get hands-on experience and ask all your burning questions about pigs. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to connect with fellow pig enthusiasts and expand your knowledge of traditional skills!
Fred will answer all your questions about pigs plus show you how we feed, farrow, fence, and more. Give treats (probably apples or pumpkins) to some of our Mulefoot hogs, meet some piglets, and learn all about fencing options, feed, wellness, and more during this two-hour outdoor workshop.
