𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐢𝐦 (𝟗𝟎𝟕𝐦, 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭) - 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐦’𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥

A high ridge walk in splendid surroundings with close-up views of the of the hidden S and W aspects of Bidean nam Bian and Stob Coire Sgreamhach. 
There are 3 options for a descent described below. There is also the option of continuing the adventure to the summit of Bidean nam Bian. This is not described below, but you can be sure it will be steep, rough, exposed, arduous and lonely.

Leave the Glen Etive road at NN148492. There is limited parking availability in the vicinity. Climb NW until the gradient eases at about 320m alt., then N up the broad spur, which eventually narrows to a more defined ridge. Continue roughly N on its crest, past several small lochans at 750m alt., after which the ridge curves NNW, rising to a plateau with a small summit at 848m. Beyond, a fine narrow ridge rises steadily to the summit of Beinn Maol Chaluim, * distant 1km. Descend N, following an old fencelineᵉˣ, heading for the Bealach Fhaolainᵉˣ. Just before it, turn W onto a spur then descend S into Coire Garbhᵉˣ. 
** At about 600m alt., turn W again and continue down to the floor of Fionn Ghleann, crossing a fencelineᵉˣ and the burn. Head N down the Glen to cross the bridge in the woodland at NN119⁰³557⁹¹. A path may be found eventually. Continue N over rough boggy land to a stile that give access the A82, opposite which is a parking place, at NN120563. Transport required: 18miles, 40mins.
*For a short day, free from transport issues (or to pick up the through-route squad): Return by the outward route.

**For a more interesting circular route: Follow the principal route down to the 600m contour. Turn S and follow the contour to the Bealach Fhionnghaill. Follow the burn down to the river issuing from Coire Cearcaill and follow it down into Gleann Charnan. Enter the forest and locate the head of a forest track.
Follow this S to meet the public road near Invercharnan and follow it NE back to the start, distant 1km.
