Every May 5, the historic working-class barrio of Peñón de los Baños in Alcaldía Venustiano Carranza transforms into a battlefield, as local residents — many of them descendants of Puebla-origin families — reenact the famous Battle of Puebla of 1862, when Mexican troops under General Ignacio Zaragoza defeated the French Imperial Army.
