Beginning at the Parque Pedregal, the tour group will then walk to Barragán’s Casa Prieto-López, built in 1949. Set in a slope and surrounded by a garden containing much of the preexisting natural elements, the home’s austere geometric volumes stand in striking contrast with their organic environs. Next, the tour will walk around the corner to the home German-Mexican architect Max Cetto built for himself and his family also in 1949. This guided tour provides an opportunity to experience these iconic works and to engage with their architectural, urban, and environmental histories.
