Start your Wednesday morning with a lovely walk outside in nature. Fill your lungs with fresh air, stretch your legs and clear your head.
Starting in Stratton, we'll walk along some of the old part taking in the church, then heading to the quaint Cotswold village of Baunton. We'll cross over the River Churn (some believe it is the true source of the Thames River) then wiggingly our way back across fields to the starting point.
Walks are open to all: Familes, friends, couples, solo walkers and dogs.
Each Wednesday walk will be different, so you can learn a new route around the Cotswolds without needing to keep checking a map or phone. Lavinia will lead the route so you don't need to worry about getting lost.
Treasure Hunt: A card with things to find on the walk, this will be offered at the beginning of the walk and isn't just for kids! Focusing on finding things whilst walking can open your eyes to things you might miss as well as being a form of mindfulness - so can help relieve some stress.
Accessability: The walks are not wheel friendly, due to uneven surfaces with mud, tree roots and stiles. Photos of stiles will be posted onto the Cotswold Venturers' Facebook Group Walk Event Page ahead of the walk.
Children's tickets are free, they will need to walk with an adult who can carry them if needed.
Dogs must be kept on leads.
What to expect:
Arrive at the carpark by 9:20, get your walking footwear on, coats, backpacks, suncream, water bottle etc.
Find Lavinia at the meeting place. Lavinia will give a welcome brief and overview of the walk, hand out Treasure Hunt Cards (optional).
9:30 the walk will begin. We'll then walk, everyone walks at difference paces, we'll pause at stiles etc when needed to regroup and ensure no-one is left behind.
We'll then return to the start point around 11am. Everyone is welcome to stay for a drink, cake and a chat in the cafe after.
Please bring suitable footwear for the weather.
