Ladies, we are going to add some distance for tonight's drill. Slow, steady, and accurate are our goals while we add some distance to our shooting.
This is a great warm-up at a known distance and a confidence builder before moving back.
Distance: Start at 7 yards.
Target Focus: The 6-inch center mass area of the silhouette.
Rounds: 5 shots.
Procedure:
Have the shooter hold the pistol in a ready position, or draw if appropriate.
The shooter has 10 seconds to fire 5 shots. This forces them to slow down, perfect the sight picture, and execute a controlled trigger pull for each round.
Goal: All 5 shots in the designated center mass area.
Progression: Once successful at 7 yards, move back to 10 yards (30 feet) and repeat. Then, try 15 yards (45 feet) with an increased par time (e.g., 15 seconds) to maintain the focus on precision.
