About the event

Understanding Watercolor
Learn the basics of watercolor painting in an easy to follow step by step process with a leading watercolor artist Kay Worz

About this Event

Week one: Beginning Watercolor. Understanding and exploring the beauty of handling watercolor, step by step. We will take the ‘fear’ out of the process. All supplies, paper, brushes and paint will be provided in the fee for the class. We will address basic color and how to control the technique. I will explain dry brush and wet- into- wet processes.

Week two: This class will show how to create depth in watercolor landscapes. An interesting way to play with gradient color while exploring values- which are so important in any type of painting. Bring your supplies from week one, and images to work from, will be provided.

Week Three: This week, we will investigate the ‘masking fluid’ technique. This technique allows a lot of freedom of color in backgrounds and then, detailing the finished painting when the masking is removed. It is worth the effort to learn this technique! Again, masking supplies and special brush and paper will be included in your fee.
