- **Event Description**: Let's go camping!About this EventThis workshop starting at 9am the morning of Saturday and ending at 12noon on Sunday focuses on tent camping and provides many hands-on activities so that you can feel confident in your skills next time you go camping! Your instructors are well-experienced campers who will teach you all of the basics to set up a successful campsite:How to choose a suitable camping locationWhat kind of gear you will needEverything you need to know about set-up- including your tent, sleeping quarters, food prep and clean-upHow to build a proper campfire for fun and cookingLearn various ways to prep, cook and serve meals while campingHow to "break-down" your camp when you are ready to go homeAll tents, equipment, cooking supplies and food for all meals (Saturday's lunch, dinner and snack + Sunday's breakfast) are provided. You will have access to indoor plumbing with the local IWLA clubhouse bathrooms - so leave the shovel at home.However, please bring your own camping chair, flashlight, sleeping bag/blanket and pillows and any other personal items such as a towel and toiletries. More information will be sent to you post registration.On Saturday evening, we will have a BIG campfire and make special treats! We invite all to share stories, ideas for future WSO events and maybe even enjoy some music. (If anyone plays an instrument, you are more then welcome to bring it and perform!)Our goal is to provide a quality learning experience that is fun and enjoyable for all who attend. If you have any questions, special needs or concerns before registering for this event please contact Becky Crowley via text at (513)-686-0939.If you have concerns about sleeping overnight in a tent, here are some options:- bring an air mattress or cot and sleep inside the chapter building.- go home to sleep and come back on Sunday morning to finish learning camping skills.Cost: $25 fee to offset our costs of equipment, food, door prizes, etc. Only 20 spots available!In respect to the Izaak Walton's Women Sharing the Outdoors (WSO) mission of female encouragement and involvement, this will only be available to female participants.
