FREE - but space is limited, so please reserve your spot.
This is a fun gathering that gives new life to old sweaters. We'll pitch in discards from our closets, cut them up, and piece them back together again into one-of-a-kind fashions. Mix and match fronts and backs, sleeves, hoods, and pockets to create surprising new pullovers. Or let your imagination run free, and reinvent the sweater parts into new hats or scarves.
Bring your own sewing machine, sharp fabric scissors and whatever old sweaters you're happy to cut up and share (outdated, shrunken, moth eaten or felted ones are all welcome - we'll salvage the good parts). I have plenty to toss in, too! We'll throw everything together into a pile and dive in.
Tables, cutting mats, extension cords, and everything else you'd expect to find in a well-stocked sewing studio are available and on hand.
Appropriate for all skill levels. Create simple or elaborate designs as you desire, and make as many new sweaters as you want.
This is a very casual gathering. Come when you can, bring your lunch if you like, and leave when you've had enough fun for one day.
My studio is located in the Lindner Annex at the corner of Montgomery Road and Kennedy Avenue in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood of Cincinnati Ohio USA. Come to the side of the building with the colorful lemon head mural (facing Kennedy Avenue). The studio entrance is behind the tree next to the Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild loading dock.
