About the event

Languages English
PLC Volunteer Info Session
A volunteer meeting for neighbors who want to take part in the work of challenging the roots of poverty.

About this Event

This meeting will outline what plans the Poverty LIberation Collective (PLC) has for the coming year and the kinds of support needed to keep our work moving.

Volunteers can learn about roles ranging from helping at Solidarity Saturdays to assisting with research, outreach, translation, accessibility, and advocacy. We’ll also make space for your ideas, skills, and lived experience.

Your insight matters. Community knowledge shapes the direction of this work.

If you’re looking for a place to contribute to systemic change alongside people directly impacted by poverty, we invite you to join the conversation.

Everyone is welcome.

DO YOU HAVE LIVED EXPERIENCE IN POVERTY?

While anyone who is passionate about social justice and committed to creating change is encouraged to volunteer, people with lived experience of poverty are invited to become members.

As a member, you will: Build community with others who have lived experience, Organize events, actions, and campaigns, Advocate for systemic change rooted in justice, dignity, and joy.

Not sure if your experience counts? Check Your Lived Experience at to explore where your story fits.

WHAT IS THE POVERTY LIBERATION COLLECTIVE?

Established in late 2023, Poverty Liberation Collective (PLC) is a grassroots movement of CAIN that aims to address poverty at a systemic level through creating space for community building, education, and action. PLC believes that bringing awareness to the realities of poverty is a vital step in empowering communities to make real and lasting changes in the anti-poverty policies that impact us all. People with lived experience in poverty guide the direction and decisionmaking process of this group.
