Ox & Bowl, Entrepreneurship as Contemplative Practice
Join us for a morning happening to explore the intersection of contemplative practice and entrepreneurship. Come and connect with other individuals in the community who are starting and running organizations/businesses and who are open to the impact of contemplative practices on that work. Explore the clearness that comes when we approach our work with intention, humor, discipline and community.
Zen teaching often describes contemplative practice as the life of eating from the rice bowl, and our job or worklife as the life of raising the water buffalo or oxen. This event is an invitation into a middle way, in which the work of entreprenuership, itself, is reinterpreted as a form of living contemplative practice. Last year, a dozen of us met monthly to support one another in this work. For those who want to go deeper, we've organized a second year, a 2019 entreprenuers cohort.
Expect equal parts reflection, guided meditation, and peer-to-peer discussion peppered with a dose of “how to not take ourselves so seriously,” and “admitting that the future isn’t entirely up to us.” In other words, join us for a big hug for folks who are just a bit tired.
From 8:30-10:30, with coffee and light breakfast available at 8am.

Facilitated by Troy Bronsink
Troy, an author-dad-consultant, and founder of the Hive, often finds himself straddling the two worlds of spiritual-poetic-presence and fearful-reactive-overwhelmedness. Basically, he needs this work as much as (if not more than) anybody else.
