Class Location: 2nd Floor.Waffle Weave is a 3 dimensional fabric formed by threads that float in both the warp and the weft. Float lengths create the characteristic depressions. It is not a weave structure but is a treadling method.This weave is especially good for towels and baby blanketsSuitable for anyone that can warp their loom and thread from a draft. This class has 3 sessions at the guild house with the actual weaving done on your own loom.1st session is a general discussion on waffle weave and info on how to weave a sampler2nd session will be a critique of students’ samples along with Q&A. She says she was so excited, it sent her back to school where she earned a BA in Art from Edgecliff College (now Xavier University) in Cincinnati, Ohio. She did her thesis on rug weaving, but since then she’s enjoyed weaving functional art such as towels, scarfs, shawls, and blankets. Barb has been teaching weaving for more years than she wants to admit. Barb is also the owner of Weavers Loft, a retail weaving supply shop as well as the home of her weaving studio.If you are not feeling well, please contact the instructor instead of coming to the class. On a case-by-case basis, we may be able to reschedule you into a future class or provide a make-up lesson. Ticket fees are not normally refunded.Depending on the CDC Guidelines for Hamilton County at the time the class is held, a mask may be required. If so, you will be notified before the first class.Unless specifically stated, Weavers Guild classes are designed for ages 18 and above. On a case-by-case basis, a minor may be permitted to register for a class but must be accompanied by a registered adult who agrees to assist the minor during the class.
