Join Lori Kaufman on July 12th from 1–5 PM for the launch celebration of her debut poetry collection, If the Pen Was Given to Her.

While researching and writing an encyclopedia of mythological asteroids, I found myself wondering what would happen if the women of myth had the ability to tell their own stories. Almost every mythic goddess has a tragic story. This collection gives voice to goddesses, heroines, and mythological figures whose stories have often been told by others and not in the way I believe they would have wanted them shared. (AND they each have an asteroid in astrology!!)

Each poem is written from her perspective offering a modern retelling while honoring the ancient roots of the myths.
