Food & Mood: Build Your Own Power Bowl (V)
January 29, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Join us for a nourishing, hands-on cooking class where participants will build vibrant power bowls featuring quinoa, marinated tempeh and a rainbow of fresh, colorful vegetables. After we cook and enjoy our meal, Dr. Barbara Walker will lead an engaging presentation on the connection between what we eat and how we feel, exploring food, mood, and gut health. A delicious and uplifting experience for both body and mind!

Dr. Barbara Walker, an Integrative Health and Performance Psychologist at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, specializes in optimizing performance in sport, career, health, and recovery from illness or injury. She integrates biofeedback, mind-body techniques, lifestyle medicine, and high-performance strategies to foster resilience and self-regulation. As Director of the Nature as Medicine program through the Osher Center for Integrative Health and a certified forest immersion guide, she promotes the science-backed health benefits of time in nature. She teaches courses in Sport and Positive Psychology, Nature-Based Therapies, and Mind-Body Medicine, and has a strong passion for teaching the vital connection between food and mood. A former competitive endurance athlete, she now enjoys cycling, hiking, yoga, gardening, and outdoor time with family and friends.
