DIY Reusable Beeswax Food Wrap at Gorman Heritage Farm
Did you know, every year Americans alone make enough plastic film to shrink-wrap the state of Texas!? That’s a lot!! Texas is 268,820 square miles!!! Plastic film wrap is also not recyclable, drastically contributing to fast growing land-fills, and land & ocean pollution. Not to mention the money it costs your family each year. The average household spends up to $200 per year on plastic food bags and cling wrap, only to be thrown in the trash.
Join us on Sunday, February 10th as we take steps to reduce household plastic use by making your own reusable beeswax food wrap. For this program we will be making our own wraps in multiple sizes that can be used to cover containers in the fridge, keep bread, your lunch, or vegetables fresh, it even works well for cheese! All made from ingredients you can feel good about, that is also compostable, or burnable.
*Class is not recomended for children under 7.
