Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Moving from Good Intentions to Actionable Strategies
About the Program:
Minority populations are overrepresented in the child protection system. Can we change that by developing a system-wide understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, or DEI?
This program will include lecture, small group discussion, and activities to help front-line caseworkers, Guardians ad Litem, attorneys, CASA Volunteers, Magistrates, Judges, and others develop a deeper understanding of the meaning and value of DEI.
Through the session, you will understand the foundation for defining DEI, and identify the unconscious obstacles that can interfere with DEI goals. Together, we will discover ways to move beyond good intentions and create a truly inclusive environment.
Attending this program will help participants be more intentional about their interactions with clients and contribute to equity in the child protection system.
