Creating Roots: Guided Meditation and Yin Yoga
Facilitated by Sonya Verma
In our modern world, we are often in our heads instead of our bodies. Welcome time to slow down, reflect and honor the magic of the inner world. We will explore embodying and contemplative practices through yin yoga and guided meditations. This is a 6-week class but we welcome drop-ins, provided we have space.
Yin yoga is a wonderful complement to the more active, solar yang style of yoga with slower, longer held poses that target the connective tissue in our bodies: ligaments, tendons, and fascia. This allows your body space for a deeper release by holding postures longer (for 3-5 minutes). Supports and props are offered if needed. This gives time for the muscles to relax, allowing the body to go to the deeper tissues. This class combines breathing exercises and Yin to explore the edges of your practice on and off your mat. This class is suitable for all levels and no prior yoga experience is required.
