Think “night at the museum” but with a healthy dose of holiday cheer.
The Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) will be open until 8 p.m. on both Thursdays and Fridays and will feature a holiday-themed projection light show outside in the Alice Bimel Courtyard. While the museum is always open until 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Friday’s extended hours are special for the holiday season.
CAM’s collection galleries and three exhibitions, including What, Me Worry? The Art and Humor of MAD Magazine, will be open during the extended hours. Visitors can also enjoy the Terrace Café, Museum Shop, and the Rosenthal Education Center (REC). What, Me Worry? is a ticketed exhibition but will be free from 5-8 p.m. on Thursdays (CAM’s ticketed exhibitions are always free Thursday evenings). The exhibition will be ticketed on Friday evenings.
Cincinnati-based motion designer, 3D animator, and three-time BLINK artist Chaske Haverkos designed an exciting projection light show, accompanied by festive music. The projection show begins at 5:30 p.m. The six-minute show plays twice, followed by a light-filled, short intermission, then the show begins again. This cycle repeats until the program ends at 8 p.m. Visitors can enjoy the show outside. Diners can also reserve a heated globe and enjoy a good meal and projection show together. Globes can seat four–six people. Make a globe reservation by calling 513-639-2986.
The Cincinnati Art Museum gratefully acknowledges its partnership with BLINK® in presenting CAM Nights and Holiday Lights.
