Meet to start at 8:30am at the Herdsman Lake Regional Park Car park. The entry to the car park is located on Jon Sanders Drive between Selby Street North and Stephenson Avenue. The car park we will use is nearest to the Popeye Lake Playground.
This is a 5km walk from the carpark to the Herdsman Lake Settlers Cottage and return. More than 160 species of bird have been recorded at Herdsman Lake. Herdsman Lake contains one of the most varied and easily observed waterbird fauna of any Lake in southwestern Australia due primarily to its wide range of habitats, as well as an important breeding site for at least 20 species, including Australian Reed Warbler, Australasian Swamphen, Black Swan and Little Grassbird.

Bring a chair and morning tea to have while the bird list is compiled.
