The City of Stirling is proud to host the Australian premieres of some of the 20th century's most remarkable works. 

Experience an exhilarating concert of sweeping melody, virtuoso brilliance and rarely heard orchestral treasures. The program opens with the Australian premiere of trailblazing British flim composer Doreen Carwithen’s dramatic Bishop Rock Overture, followed by Louise Farrenc’s powerful and richly expressive Symphony No. 3, showcasing the distinctive voice of one of nineteenth-century France’s most remarkable composers. 

Performed by MetSO Artist Audrey Jarvis, Korngold’s magnificent Violin Concerto then takes centre stage with its soaring lyricism, cinematic colour and dazzling solo writing. The concert concludes with another Australian premiere: Korngold’s joyful Straussiana, a sparkling tribute to the irresistible elegance and charm of the Viennese waltz. 

The concert is conducted by Elise Chong, and together these works promise an afternoon of colour, drama and musical storytelling.

All concerts in our 2026 main series are held in the Taryn Fiebig Concert Hall, Churchlands Senior High School; one of WA’s finest live performance venues.
