In a forest, trees connect through underground fungal networks, sharing carbon, nutrients, and warning signals. These exchanges channel resources to seedlings and enable mutual regulation under stress, sustaining the resilience of the community. Though invisible to the eye, these subterranean interactions—observable and inferable—form a structure of care that transcends individual beings and spans across time. Growth, in this sense, becomes understood as a distributed and collaborative act. Building on this foundation, the exhibition turns its gaze toward human relationships. Emotions and memories often flow along hidden pathways—they may not respond through language, yet they shape our gestures and rhythms nonetheless. In many instances, connection precedes articulation. We need not make everything explicit to be nourished and supported by one another. In the creative process, painting becomes a means of tracing and revealing. Layers of pigment and symbols accumulate like notes marking nodes, movements, and pauses. Washes and blank spaces form walkable terrains, inviting viewers to return to traces through time and to register their transformations. The works do not anthropomorphize the forest nor retell science; they remain quiet, like a passageway through which the body perceives unseen exchanges—who gives to whom, where depletion occurs, and which routes silently reconnect. Amid the climate crisis, cultural displacement, and human estrangement, the exhibition gestures toward an ethics of care—learning to nourish, receive, and transmit in places unseen, to direct resources and attention toward where they are most needed. "Who Gently Embraces Me Beneath the Earth" is a letter that asks for no reply, addressed to the silent connections that sustain us.
