1/27/17 Field Trip- Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area
PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE!!
We are going to join in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Florida’s Wildlife Management Areas.
There will be hayrides, a plant tour with Dr. Walter Taylor, food trucks, and lots of interesting groups including Tarflower explaining native plants to the public. WMAs and hunting are the reason for much of our preserved lands, so they are very good to have and worth celebrating. They are large with varied ecosystems. You can drive in, park at many different parking areas, and explore for interesting plants all day long. You don’t have to stay on the trails and there is room to get lost in nature.
It will be a family-friendly event to highlight the management activities and recreation opportunities on Tosohatchee’s wildlife-rich public lands.
As most of you know, Tosohatchee is east on highway 50 to Christmas, then turn right on Taylor Creek Rd and continue three miles or so to the park entrance. No entrance fee for this event.
