Join us for another friendly Crater Rim Ultra recce run, it is a great opportunity to explore the course, build confidence on the trails, and connect with fellow runners.

Date: Sunday 2 August
Meeting Point: Hansen Park, Opawa 
Meeting Time: 7:55am
Distance: 14km approx.
Expected Time: 2–3 hours on trail

Starting from the CRU Race Village at Hansen Park, we'll head up into the stunning landscapes of Mt Vernon Park, managed by the Port Hills Park Trust, a group we're proud to support through every CRU entry.

From there, we'll make our way up the valley to Summit Road, a perfect chance to test those uphill legs before traversing sections of the Crater Rim Trail and exploring Linda Woods Reserve. We'll then descend back to Hansen Park, enjoying a mix of flowing single track and spectacular views.

There are plenty of options to tailor the run to your fitness and goals, with shorter and longer route choices available.

Please come prepared with your own nutrition and hydration. It's an ideal opportunity to test your race-day kit and fine-tune your setup ahead of event season.

We'll cater for a range of paces, so whether you're entered in CRU, thinking about signing up, or simply looking for a great day out on the trails, we'd love to have you join us. Friends and whānau are welcome too.
