Join us for the Winter Solstice on Winter Hill, in Lancashire! Bring a mug to celebrate with a little mulled wine / hot chocolate and mince pie!
This is a 5.5 mile (8.7km) circular trail from Rivington, which takes us up past the Pigeon Tower in Leverhulme's Gardens and across Winter Hill to Rivington Pike, before descending back through the garden to Rivington Hall.
A spectacular scenic route, with a mix of terrain - some wide tracks, some moorland paths (potentially very boggy), woodland, historic sites and beautiful architecture to be seen.
Well behaved, friendly (with people and other dogs) dogs are welcome, but must be agile enough to climb stiles or small enough to be lifted. Please also note that we will be passing through many fields of sheep, so be prepared to have your dog on a lead for some of this route.
Children aged approx. 7+ are also welcome.
This small-group guided walk is professionally led by Abi, a qualified Mountain Leader and Outdoor First Aider / Mental Health First Aider, with full PL insurance. Booking is essential, places are limited and cost £12 per adult / £8 per child.
Details of what to bring and where to meet will be emailed on booking, but please get in touch if you need further details beforehand. We walk in ALL weather, so please take note of the Kit List that will be sent out on booking.
