We are delighted to be hosting guest examiner, Sensei Georges Dussart, who will run a training & kyu grading for us on 28 February 2026.
Having first started karate training under Sensei Terry O’Neill in 1969 at the University of Salford, Sensei Georges also joined the Rochdale Karate Club under Sensei Mike Toze. When he moved to work in Carlisle in 1975, he started the Haltwhistle Karate Club and when he moved to Canterbury in 1980, he started the Canterbury Christ Church University Karate Club. He now runs Sochin Karate Club in Canterbury. He holds 6th Dan with Shotokan Connect.

9.15am-10.15am: Brown & black belts training
10.15am-10.30am: Registration for all grades course & grading – ideally register & pay in advance to save time on the day
10.30am-11.30am: All grades training
11.45pm-2.45pm: Kyu grading
3pm onwards: lemonade with Sensei Georges at nearby venue

TRAINING ONLY: £10 for Senshi Karate students or other Shotokan Connect members or included for SK students who pay monthly for Saturdays or all classes; £20 for non-members of Shotokan Connect.
TRAINING + KYU GRADING: £25 for Senshi Karate students or other Shotokan Connect members or £15 for SK students who pay monthly for Saturdays or all classes. Grading open to Shotokan Connect members only. This includes your belt if you’re successful. You must train to grade.
Make sure your licence with Shotokan Connect is in date. No licence, no grading!
Parking: There is parking onsite. Remember, the whole of London is covered by the Ultra Low Emission Zone so check your car is compliant
Changing rooms: There are changing rooms onsite
As is the custom, we will pop out after the grading with Sensei Georges for a lemonade or a half pint afterwards at a nearby venue
